Why I Started Rigusa
My name is Ricardo Guillaume Sam, founder of Rigusa. The idea grew from my experience working as a security guard. Since 2021, I have worked across security environments in Québec, including hospitals, nightlife venues, patrols and access control. Those experiences taught me how much responsibility comes with the uniform: protecting people, handling difficult situations, staying alert and remaining professional under pressure. They also shaped the belief behind Rigusa: security professionals deserve compensation and recognition that reflect the responsibility of their work. I wanted that concern to become a reason to build something better—with fair compensation, clearer expectations, stronger opportunities and greater respect for their skills. Valuing the people doing the work helps build stronger, more reliable security services for the businesses and communities that depend on them. I am bringing my field experience into this project because I understand the responsibility behind every shift. Rigusa is my way of working toward an industry where security professionals feel valued and can see a better future in their work.

How a shift works
Here’s how Rigusa Reserve coordinates every step of a security shift.
1. Request Created (Pending)
A client submits a request with dates, times, location, service details and guard requirements.
2. Team Assigned (Accepted)
Available security professionals review the opportunity and a team is assigned to the shift.
3. First Guard Clocks In (Active)
When the first guard clocks in on-site, the shift becomes active and live coordination begins.
4. Last Guard Clocks Out (Completed)
The shift is completed when the last guard clocks out and required reports are submitted.
Guards work independently. Individual hours, breaks, reports and payment summaries are tracked per guard for clarity and accountability.

By verifying presence through secure technology, we provide an extra layer of protection, ensuring that guards are supported throughout their entire service period.
Required shift and incident reports are intended to support accurate records of work performed, timing, and key details when issues arise.

Designed for responsible operations
Rigusa Reserve is being planned with account controls, notification settings, a help centre, clear terms and policies, and data and location consent flows to support responsible use.
The platform works by integrating real-time geolocation with automated shift logging, creating a seamless audit trail that benefits every participant in the security lifecycle.
